Simple Prorating

There may be situations where a child may enroll for an activity late, or may have to end the session early.  With our new Prorating feature, you have the option to turn on prorating so that the parent is only charged for the time the child/children attend the activity.  Let's take a look at how this works, depending on the settings for your activities.

Activities set to weekly:

Every weekly subscription's billing cycle anchor is set to Mondays, so the fees for all weekly subscriptions are collected on the same day--on a recurring basis.  After a parent enrolls a child, an invoice for the remaining days until the next Monday is created and sent to the parent.

Activities set to monthly:

Every monthly subscription’s billing cycle anchor is set to the first day of a month, so the money for all prorated subscriptions is collected on the same day.   After a parent enrolls a child, an invoice for the remaining days until the first of the next month is created.

**Please note that if a month has five weeks, proration will still occur.

Activities set to per session

When a parent visits their Parent Portal, they will see a price for the remaining activity days.

Turning on the Prorating Feature:

When creating a paid activity (in this example, we'll use a class) once you arrive on the page where you can add Fees and Add-Ons, you will have the option to toggle on the button for Prorating, here:
